After being screened at the 26th Busan International Film Festival and the 52nd Goa International Film Festival, the movie 'There is no soil under the feet' will be screened in six festivals of the three countries next March. The film stars Dipanbita Martin, a recent National Film Award winning actress.
Director Mohammad Rabbi Mridha said, "My film 'There is no ground under my feet' will be screened in March at Osaka Asian Film Festival in Japan, Bangalore International Film Festival in India, Pune International Film Festival, Orange City International Film Festival, Latur International Film Festival and Nepal International Film Festival."
Abu Shahed Emon, the producer of the film, said that Osaka Asian Film Festival in Japan is considered as one of the most important film festivals in Asia. The festival will run from March 10 to March 20. This year, the ‘spotlight’ category has been nominated for ‘there is no soil under the feet’. Mostafa Sorayar Farooqi's 'No Lands Man' has been nominated in the competition section of the same festival this year.
On the other hand, the Bangalore International Film Festival organized by the Karnataka government has received official recognition this year from the International Producers Association (FIAP). That is why the producer of 'There is no soil under the feet' is watching the 13th festival with a little importance. A total of 14 movies are competing in the 'Asian' movie category at the festival.
Apart from Bangladesh, the list includes pictures of Iran, Israel, India, Japan and the Philippines. The festival will run from 3 to 10 March. The 20th edition of Pune International Film Festival will start on the same day. The festival will be shown in the 'Global Cinema' section 'There is no soil under the feet'. The festival has a total of four screenings of this movie. Two of them are at the main festival in Pune.
The other two exhibitions will be at the 6th Orange City International Film Festival under the Pune Film Festival and the other at the Latur International Film Festival. The 5th edition of the Nepal International Film Festival will be held on March 24 jointly organized by the Nepal Film and Cultural Academy and the Film Development Board of the Government of Nepal.
The festival will continue till March 26. A total of 16 full-length short stories have been selected for this year's event. The only film from Bangladesh is 'There is no soil under the feet'.
Apart from actress Dipanbita Martin, a group of talented artists and crew including Mostafa Monwar and Priyam Archie have also acted in the movie.
