New Year's Eve: Fireworks welcome 2022

Fireworks. Old Lang sign. A vague memory that you are happy to leave as you go into a new year.

These are New Year’s Eve traditions for many, but how will the coronavirus change how people celebrate the final moments of 2021 when most parts of the world are still facing stiff Kavid-19 restrictions?

People want to know if the fireworks display and other celebrations could go ahead this New Year's Eve.

Here's what you need to know.

Will there be any fireworks display on New Year's Eve?

Unfortunately, 2022 can't start with a literal push, as many large fireworks displays have been canceled.

However, in a last-minute decision, London's fireworks display has been given the green light to move forward, although people are being encouraged to watch the show sitting at home on TV.

You can still welcome the new year with small displays in some parts of the UK.

You should check the website of the event you want to attend, as there may be limitations - such as limited capacity and mandatory face masks for indoor events.

It is also worth noting that events may be canceled now and on New Year's Eve due to the Omicron Covid-19 variant spreading across the UK.

In Scotland, celebrations in Hogman, Edinburgh, have been canceled - ordinary outdoor street parties, concerts and fireworks are no longer going on. Luni Duke (a morning dip in the river) has also been canceled.

In Wales, Cardiff Depot will return, showband salutes with cocktails, street food and fireworks.

However, due to the Covid restrictions in Wales, to enjoy the festival you must book in advance, show proof of vaccination - or show evidence of a negative lateral flow test.

New Year's Eve ceremonies are usually held at the Baligali and Killevi castles in Northern Ireland, and at the Fretelli in Belfast.

However, given Northern Ireland's current Covid restrictions (which prohibit nightclubs and other indoor events), it is not entirely clear what will happen next.

In England, London's famous fireworks display 'due to uncertainty over Covid-19' has been canceled for the second year in a row.

Originally, the display was replaced by a celebration with live music in Trafalgar Square.

However, the event was canceled just before Christmas due to fears of an increase in Omicron variants in the capital.

Londoners can still see small displays across London, and the return of nightclubs means you can boogie your way through 2022.

Elsewhere in England, fireworks displays have been canceled in Cornwall's St. Ives and Allendele in Northumberland.

Other fireworks displays in England, such as in Knoll's Knoll Park and Cambria Lake District, could still go ahead. Check out this place.

Manchester is hosting a big NYE event this year, like 1922 to help you party with a Piki Blinders-themed celebration - but very close to the event, it's all booked.

Of course, if you want to display your small fireworks, you are allowed to turn off the fireworks until 1 am on New Year's Eve.

Remember that if you decide to go to a club or a big event in the new year, you will need to show a Covid-19 pass in order to prove double vaccination or enter a negative Covid-19 test. .

Not sure if you need to show a Covid-19 pass or negative test for outdoor events like fireworks - so it's always a good idea to check the requirements before setting off.

How to see a New Year's Day parade in London

London does not allow an epidemic because the year could start on a medium note.

The London New Year's Day Parade (LNYDP) is expected to go ahead as usual.

However, tickets are all sold out, and none will be available that day.

This does not mean that you will miss out completely, as the Capital Parade will be streamed live for free.
