In a fair and festive atmosphere, the selection of the Association of Performing Artists has come to an end. The polling at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy was scheduled to be held on Friday from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm but the voting time was extended to 6:30 pm.
The counting of votes started at 9 pm with a two-hour break. Actor Khairul Alam Sabuj, Election Commissioner of Abhinaya Shilpi Sangha, announced the results at 10:15 pm. According to the announced results, Ahsan Habib Nasim, the successful general secretary for two terms, has won the post of president this time. Anisur Rahman Milon, Iqbal Babu and Selim Mahbub have won the three posts of vice-president. Raunak Hasan has won the post of general secretary. Nazneen Hasan Chumki and Jamil Hossain have won the post of joint general secretary.
Besides, Saju Khadem has won the post of organizational secretary, Muhammad Noor A Alam (Nayan) for the post of finance secretary, Sheikh Merajul Islam for the post of office secretary, Rashed Mamun Apu for the post of program secretary, Urmila Sravanti Kar for the post of law and welfare secretary and Pran Roy for the post of publicity and publication. Sujat Shimul and Ainun Nahar Putul, Tanvir Masud, Majnun Mizan, Ashraful Ashish, Soochana Sikder, Shams Sumon and Hime Hafeez have won the post of Information and Technology Secretary and 7 executive members respectively. The total number of voters in the Abhinaya Shilpi Sangha this time was 748.
