Bangladesh Tourism Corporation has created more than 60 thousand skilled human resources.


State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism. Mahbub Ali said Bangladesh Tourism Corporation (BPC) is making significant contribution to make Cox's Bazar and other tourist destinations of the country attractive. The institute is running the country's first training center National Hotel and Tourism Training Institute to impart hands-on training to those involved in the tourism industry.

He said that about 1800 skilled human resources are created every year in this training center established by Bangabandhu in 1974. Since its inception, the company has built up more than 60,000 skilled human resources, who continue to work with a reputation at home and abroad.

He said this while addressing a press conference on the occasion of 50th anniversary of Bangladesh Tourism Corporation. Also present at the press conference were AM Ubaydul Moktadir Chowdhury, Chairman of the Standing Committee on the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism and Mohammad Ali, Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation Tourism. Mokammel Hossain, Additional Secretary to the Chairman of Bangladesh Tourism Corporation AHM Golam Kibria and others.

In a written statement, Mahbub Ali said that the current number of units of Bangladesh Tourism Corporation, which started its journey with only 6 commercial units, is 50. A few more units are waiting to be launched.

He said the tourism corporation has implemented 20 development projects in the last 12 years at a cost of about Tk 264.06 crore. In the meantime, the renovation of 10 existing hotels and motels of Bapak, collection of 6 cars, replacement of closets in Cox's Bazar and Kuakata have been completed.

All the commercial units of the company have been brought under digital system. Tourists have been provided facilities at Lalakhal in Sylhet, Jorkan Dighi in Comilla, Natore, Ghajini in Sherpur and Vijaypur in Netrokona district. The company's commercial units have digital signage and IP cameras and sound systems.

Besides, Bangladesh Tourism Corporation has undertaken 12 projects worth Tk 12,000 crore. 335 crore as part of various important initiatives of the government for the development of tourism industry of the country.

 Notable among these are: introduction of tourism facilities at Parki, Anwar Upazila, Chittagong, development of rural tourism at Tungipara, preservation of rural environment and creation of tourism facilities at the steamer wharf of Baghiakul river intertwined with the memory of Bangabandhu, construction of tourist center at Panchagarh. Construction of Hasina Tower and Establishment of Tourism Zone Survey Project, Construction of Tourism Facility at Durgasagar, Barisal, Construction of Tourism Facility near Sheikh Hasina Bridge at Mahananda, Chapainawabganj District, Construction of Tourism Center at Hatia and Nijhum District Islands, Construction of Tourism Center at West Bengal, West Bengal. Tourist center at Adarshnagar in Mohanganj upazila of Netrokona district.


Bangladesh Tourism Corporation has been leading the development of tourism industry in the country since 1982. Since its inception, the company has been making all-out efforts to develop the tourism industry from government allocation and own revenue.

 Bangladesh Tourism Corporation is known as a trusted organization for providing safe and healthy food and quality guest services to tourists.

I believe that Bangladesh Tourism Corporation, a pioneer organization of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, will continue to play a leading role in achieving the desired goals of the country's tourism industry through its half a century of experience and timely initiatives.
