Last year there was an uproar in Kolkata over being cheated. Mimi Chakraborty also fell seriously ill with a fake vaccine without her knowledge. He has no regrets about the way he had to face questions in the incident. On the contrary, he thinks that such a big deception has come to light because he was vocal at that time. Many lives have been saved.
MP Mimi gave details in the live program 'Ajana Kotha' on Anandabazar online on Saturday. On June 23, he took Kovid antidote from a vaccination center in Rajdanga under Kasba police station. After receiving the vaccine, he noticed that his testimonial had not been received. Mimi later lodged a written complaint with the Kasba police station, alleging that a man by the name of Debanjan Dev, who identified himself as an IAS officer and joint commissioner of the Calcutta Municipality, had carried out the fake antidote program. Kasbana police arrested Debanjan on the basis of Mimi's allegations.
After that, the police started investigating the fake vaccine camp. One shocking information after another kept coming up. Mimi said in a chat on Saturday evening about the incident, "Luckily I went that day! Otherwise, he (Debanjan Deb, the main accused in the fake vaccine camp case) might not have been caught. If I had not taken the vaccine, I would not have known that he (Devanjan) is running so many fake programs in Calcutta. If I had not been active then, he would have continued the camp even today.
Three days after being vaccinated at Debanjan's camp, Mimi's body suddenly became dehydrated. As the blood pressure drops, so does the pain in the abdomen. The MP-star continues to weaken. He was resting at home for several days. But at the same time, the question also arose, why did he go to a fake vaccination center without taking the right information even after becoming an MP?
MP Mimi's 'unconsciousness' was questioned in the whole incident but he has no regrets. "Even though my health is involved in this whole incident, I'm glad I took the right step at the right time," Mimi said. I am happy to have saved so many people from a fake man. And the administration has also taken strict action based on my complaint.
Debanjan, who was arrested as the main accused in the fake vaccination camp case, told the police on remand that no covshield or covacin vaccine was given in the Kasbar camp. He was given Amicassin injection, which he bought from Bagri Market in the name of the municipality. Fake Covishield wrappers were printed in his Kasbar office. Later, four of his staff would put it in the injection vial! Debanjan also illegally stole masks and sanitizers worth around Tk 25 lakh to sell at higher prices in the future.
After that, Devanjan's office and house were searched one by one and fake identity cards, fake seals of Calcutta Municipality, papers and his used Toyota car were recovered. It is learned that Debanjan also used blue lights and flags in the car to keep his true identity secret. Special stickers of the state government were affixed on the rear window of the vehicle.
